New licensing policy

Over the holidays, I was sick for a couple of weeks so I was forced to slow down. It gave me a lot of time to think and evaluate what I want in the new year. My resolution for 2016 is to surrender and let the chips fall where they may.

Along those lines falls something I’ve been mulling for a very long time. So, here it is…  I’ve decided that it is time to offer limited commercial licenses for small crafters. It may not seem like much since there are other designers that do the same. But it’s a big step for me — especially the part of how to start this side of my business.

As I thought about the type of licensing agreement I’d offer I kept going back and forth between the common license per item that other designers offer and the free angel policy that large cutting machine manufacturers offer. I’ve always been torn between the two. So, I’ve decided to do something a bit different.

My licensing agreement will be closer to a free angel policy with the exception that I’m adding a one-time licensing fee that will entitle an individual crafter to sell crafts using A Little Hut files. I think the one-time fee makes it easier for everyone. I can keep a running list of authorized licensees and crafters will only need to keep a count of their annual sales (only 400 items can be sold per calendar year of each file). It’s easy and it’s reasonable.

I truly believe that if we help one another we can all do great things. I have finally understood that my favorite thing to do is to offer the tools or bases for you to add your dose of creativity and flair. Now you will have the opportunity to sell some of your handiwork as well.

I’m excited to share this new phase of A Little Hut and I can’t wait to see where you go with my files!

If you are interested in selling crafts using A Little Hut files you MUST read our licensing agreement first and then purchase the license. Please respect the terms and if you have any questions feel free to contact me before paying for a license. Please note that this licensing agreement is only for small independent crafters with home-based cutting machines.

If you are a large manufacturer and you’re interested in licensing A Little Hut designs please contact me for further information.
