The Flower Quartet is my first digi-stamp set and it also includes an added free bonus – the SVG files! I’m quite excited to get this product line officially started. It may be an evolving product and that’s what makes it fun. I hope that in time you would also be willing to contribute any suggestions to this new category.
This particular set includes three images all based on my go-t0 flower doodle. It has a main illustration and two complimentary smaller ones. The medallion is something I picture using as an envelope seal, gift tag, or something similar. The image shows you different ways of cropping the three images to get other card ideas. The illustrations don’t necessarily work just centered on a page. Find ways of cropping the images to get variations in your work.
I don’t remember the first time I drew this flower but I do remember thinking that it was going to stick around. It’s fun to draw and I have no idea why. It doesn’t really represent any flower in particular. It just captures a little bit of everything that is fun about flowers and it has a good variety of areas for shading and coloring. When I doodle with no plan in mind, this flower always sneaks into my sketches. I’ve always felt it’s like a good friend that visits often.
I cheated a bit with my card. I colored it digitally but I wanted to give you an idea of what the main illustration could look like. It would be a great piece to frame too!
I hope you enjoy them and I look forward to seeing what make with these files!
I’ve been thinking a lot of how I want A Little Hut to evolve and grow. Part of that includes what my mission is – sharing my creativity with you and for you to share yours with others. As I said years ago, on the old blog, I still believe that creativity fills the heart — it truly does! So, why don’t we spread it even further?
From now part of A Little Hut proceeds will be donated to Donors Choose, an organization that provides public school teachers with materials for their classes, needs that they can’t meet otherwise. Initially, I will be donating to art and music projects.
Taking this step makes me so happy! What I do and your support of my work will allow teachers to continue to spread the joy of making art. Yay! I hope that you can join me in this cause. I’ll report once a quarter on what we’ve accomplished together. I can’t wait to get started!
We can start with the Floral Lattice Collection. It’s based off a sketch that I drew when it was the end of the day and I just needed to draw something to relax. It’s so interesting how some of my favorite work happens when I’m not overthinking it.
I like the idea of making these gift sets so that you can share what you make with your favorite people. We shouldn’t keep it all to ourselves, right? Which makes this more of a fitting project to start with A Little Hut’s latest mission. Don’t you think?
Happy Monday everyone!

I draw flowers almost on a daily basis. Flowers and leaves are my go-t0 doodles when I’m on the phone, or just needed some time to unwind. It just happens. So, it’s no surprise that when I was rather clueless about what to work on and my back gave out (so my planned crafty afternoon to word was forcibly cancelled) I ended up with flowers. I lay in bed sketching, in pain, and this is what I ended up with.
When I finished the illustration I immediately had the thought that it would be a great way to test out the prowess of my cutting machine and that it would be a challenge to figure out how the layering would work. Projects that include a challenge are especially enticing to me — it’s part of the fun.
For those of you, that order the project, you’ll notice that some of my layers are in some odd shapes. I did this on purpose. I don’t like wasting paper and creating layers that need too much paper that is hidden in the end. This way if you have some scrap paper lying around, this is your chance to use it.
As I was working on the project, I also posted the photo below, as an in-progress shot. I really liked the look of it and decided to include this set up in the files (Some of the pieces are different than in the full colored version above).
So, if you’d like to start your week with some flowers (not a bad thing to do, in my opinion!) Flowers All Around is the set for you. I hope you enjoy it!
Happy Monday everyone!
PS – I finished working on this while the kids were studying for their finals this week. The selfish part of me enjoyed every minute of not feeling mom-guilt over having a lot of crafty time to myself! 🙂
